    Died:
    Found Dead in Bed
Mrs. Wm. Burrows, of Holstein, was found dead in bed on Friday morning last. This was the cause of surprixe and regret in the community as no one had been expecting her death. In company with her daughter, Mrs. William Seaman, she attended prayer meeting at the Methodist church the previous evening and retired about her usual time. She lived alone but one of Mrs. Seaman's sons slept in the same house. On Friday morning the boy was a little later than usual in returning home and when he arrived there he announced that his grandmother was dead. She had been troubled with heart weakness and this undoubtedly caused her death.

Mrs. Burrows was a lady who was highly respected by all who knew her. She was a Christian in the truest sense and was a devoted Methodist. Her maiden name was Mary Case and she was born in West Flamboro', Ontario, on April 26th, 1828, being thus over seventy-one years old. She was married to the late William Burrows in 1848 and they moved to Holstein nine years later. Her husband did in August 1887, and the farm on which they had lived since becoming residents of Egremont was then sold. Mrs. Burrows retained a house on part of it, however, and lived there till her death.

They had thirteen children, the following ten of whom are living; Mrs Henry Tucker, Flesherton; Mrs. James Hunt, Riverview; Mrs W. Seaman, Holstein; Mrs R.O. Hoffman, Lumsden, NWT; Peter and Nelson, Lumsden, NWT; Marshal, Riverview; Jacob, Paisley; George, Conn.; John, Chicago.

Mrs. Burrows also leaves forty-six grand-children, and four great-grandchildren. Two of her brotheres, Daniel and Jacob Case, are living and conduct a general store at Glanford, Ont. There was a large attendance at the funeral on Sunday, services being conducted at the Methodist Church, Holstein, by Rev. J.W. Magwood. The following were pallbearers: Robert Mickleborough, John Thair, Thos. Brown, Nelson Main, William Main, Robert Burrows. Interment took place at Mount Forest.

Family/Spouse: William Burrows. William was born in 1824; died on 1 Aug 1887 in Holstein, Grey County, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
