Notes: Alexander Watt came to Canada (1820) as a single man. Isobel Foster, his great granddaughter recounts a faamily tradition which says that Alexander went to the USA to work for a time soon after his arrival in Canada. He is said to have met and married a girl there. He brought her back to Lammermoor but she died in childbirth. It is believed that she is buried on the farm, alongside her husband and his second wife, Euphemia Gibson, who was a daughter of neighbour Robert Gibson of this same emigration society.
