    Paul - Mrs. Robert Paul, Dalhousie, died on March 18th at the age of seventy-seven years. Her maiden name was Janet McDougall. Surviving are a family of two sons and three daughters, Andrew in Dalhousie, George in Palmerston, Mrs. John Cring, of Frontenac, Mrs. Isaac Shanks, of Playfair, and Mary at home. Her husband died nine years ago.

    John Crawford was a staunch Presbyterian and in 1855 set aside part of his farm for a church and burial grounds, which today is Crawford's Cemetery. John erected a headstone for his wife, Janet Bryce,in Plot #178.
    Only a wood stake was put in place for John Crawford after his death. I was next to his wife's headstone. It had only his name "John Crawford inscribed on it"(no birth or death date).(See photo)
    A marker was placed in his name June 2006, by the Crawford Cemetery Board and it is inscribed:
    "John Crawford founder of Crawford Cemetery"
    At this time, it is not known the exact date of when John Crawford Died. His will was registered July 5, 1867 and was executed July 10, 1872 (thus abt. 1872).

    John married Jane Bryce.
