    Janet was the daughter of Peter McVean and Isabella Bell. She was never married but had a daughter, Catherine McVean, born in 1876, who married John Miller. Catherine died at age 25. Janet died at Bathurst Township, Lanark County, Ontario, on May 14,1931. She was listed as single when she died at age 79. Her death regstration says she was buried at Crawford cemetery, but there is no stone or record to show this. Her parents and siblings are buried at Crawford cemetery and no doubt she is buried there also.

    Peter was born in Scotland, about 1818. He was married May 19,1837 in Roseneath, Dunbarton, Scotland, to Isabella Bell. They came to Canada and settled on Lot 6, Con 1 of North Sherbrooke Township, Lanark County, Ontario. Cemetery records say he died Dec.1,1882, however his Death Registration says he died Dec.1,1881.

    Peter married Isabella Bell. Isabella was born in 1811 in Scotland; died on 16 Jun 1891 in Perth, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Crawford Cemetery, Elphin, Dalhousie Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
