Mourn Passing of Mrs. D. Stewart
On April 22nd, there passed away a life long resident of North Sherbrooke in the person of Jessie Catherine Wilson, beloved wife of Duncan Stewart, who is left to mourn the deceased. Mrs Stewart was the daughter of the late Eben. Wilson and his wife Margaret Buchan.

She is also survived by two sisters Ellen Jane and Mrs. Margaret Duncan and four first cousins who live near Wiseton in Sask. They are Agnes (Mrs. R Nesbit), Mabel (Mrs. Currie), Annie (Mrs Smith) and Melville, Lorne Wilson. These seven are also grand nieces and nephews of the late Judge Wilson who fougnt the dual at Perth.

Mrs. Stewart was of a kind disposition, a lover of home and home surroundings and was always pleased when friends or neighbours dropped in to visit her, she being crippled for some years and not able to moved round to enjoy life.

Her funeral was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Milroy of Perth, her own pastor the Rev. Mr. Brett being ill.

The pallbeareres were: Ross McDougall, John Stewart, Murray Nesbit, Davie Ferguson, Clarence Robinson and Arnold Long. Beautiful floral tributes testified to the esteem in which she was held.

The remains were laid to rest in Crawford cemetery.

Elphin, Ontario, Thursday, August 30th, Margaret Buchan, widow of the late Ebenezer Wilson, aged 81 years. She was born on the Highland Line of Dalhousie, August 11th, 1853, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Buchan. She leaves three daughters; Mrs. Duncan Stewart, Elphin; Ellen, and Margaret, at home. Mrs. Mary Donald, of McDonald's Corners, a sister, also survives. Burial in Crawford's Cemetery.d

David was born May 6,1800 in Paisley, Scotland, the son of Ebenezer Wison and Ursila Stewart. He was married in Canada on Nov.17,1834 to Ellen Smith. He was a Justice of the Peace and farmed in North Sherbrooke Township, Lanark County, Ontario. David died in North Sherbrooke on Oct.22,1880 at the age of 80 years.
