    Susan Jane Wrzosek, 85, of Beloit, Wis., died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Encore Senior Villa in Clinton, Wis.

    She was born Aug. 16, 1918, in Marquette, Mich., the daughter of . A.E. and Roberta Pollock Powell. She was a 1935 graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School, 1940 graduate of Eau Claire State Teachers College, 1947 graduate of the School of Chicago Art Institute and a 1948 graduate of the University of Wisconsin. Susan was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.

    She married Robert Wrzosek on Oct. 7, 1950, in Beloit, Wis. He predeceased her on Jan. 10, 1984. Susan formerly taught in the Beloit School District, She was a former Girl Scout Leader; organized adult art groups and was involved with the Humane Society. Susan was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist.

    Survivors include a nephew, Daniel (Laurie) Powell of Minneapolis, Minn., and his children, Stephan and Laura; a niece, Mary (Raymond) Bonnabeau of St. Paul, Minn., and her children, Mary, Margaret, Raymond and Christopher; sister-in-law. Bertha Toltzman and brother-in-law, James (Linda) Wrzosek of Scottsdale, Ariz., and their children, Ann (Steven) Manor, Joseph (Diane) Wrzosek, Elizabeth (Steven) Messer and David (Stephanie) Wrzosek; cousin. Bonnie Anderson of Rockford, III.; and a special friend, Joan Waite. She was predeceased by her parents, brother, and a niece, Mary Toltzman.

    Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004, in the Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, Wis., with Gerald Cox officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2004, in the Holy Family Cemetery in Stanley, Wis. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until the time of services Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the Rock County Humane Society .

    Mrs. Roberta Powell, 63, of 1220 S. Farwell St, died Thursday In Boston, Mass., where she had been spending an extended vacation. She had been in ill health for several months. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Robert Wrzosek, of Beloit, a son, Robert A., of Minneapolis, and two grandchildren. From 1934 to 1950, Mrs. Powell was employed by the public welfare department of the city here. Private funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Stokes and Sons chapel, with the First Reader of the Christian Science Church conducting the services. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friend may call at Stokes and sons Sunday afternoon and evening.

    Robert Pollock, 95, died Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. E. Powell, 1220 So(uth) Farwell St.

    He was born In Manns Mt. New Brunswick, Canada, and came to Eau Claire about 60 years ago. For 38 years he was employed by the W. J. Starr Lumber Company. Mr. Pollock is survived by his daughter, Mrs. A. E Powell, a granddaughter and a grandson, two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Nichol, Glen Levit, N. B., Canada, and Mrs. Margaret Babcock Manns Mt.; two brothers, William and John of Glenn Levit. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1927. Funeral services will be held Thursday at l:30 from Lenmark's. Dr. D. K. Roberts will officiate and the interment will be in the Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at Lenmark's Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday until time of service.
