    MRS. JOHN SCOTT HOOD SUCCUMBS; FUNERAL HELD MONDAY AT LENGBY

    Mrs John Hood, long-time resident of Lengby, was laid to rest Tuesday, following services at the St. Paul Lutheran church with the Rev. G. F. Guldberg officiating. The Peterson Funeral Home of Fosston was in charge of arrangements.

    Anna Amanda Hood was born to parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson on April 24, 1882, in Lake Mills, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and attended public schools at Lake Mills and at Decorah, Iowa.

    She was married to John Scott Hood on June 26, 1907 in Jamestown, N.D. They homesteaded in Harding County, S.D. where they lived from 1911 to 1919. They settled on a farm in Columbia Township near Lengby, in 1919. She lived there until 1952 and, for the last 12 years, has resided in Lengby.

    Mrs. Hood was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran church and was especially interested in church projects and church education.

    Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Mrs. Harry L. (Anna) Smith of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Mrs. Carl F. (Marion) Radke of St. Paul, Minn., and three sons, The Rev. William Hood of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, Donald S. Hood of Lengby and John R. Hood, of Interlochen, Michigan. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. M. G. Dakin of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Mrs. George Ledbetter of Albany, Texas; 15 grandchildren and a great number of nieces and nephews.

    Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her husband in 1941.
