    says Mary McLean died April 8, 1922 in North Elmsley Township. She died at lot 22, concession 8 of North Elmsley. Mary was a widow at the time of her death. Mary was born in North Elmsley on December 24, 1844, the daughter of Thomas Wilson and Ann Beckett. She was of Irish origin, her father being born in Ireland. She died of cancer of the stomach contributed by old age. She was under the care of Dr. W. A. Meighen of Perth from March 1, 1922 to April 8, 1922. The informant of her death was her son, Chas. McLean, of Perth. The undertaker in charge of her funeral was Blair, from Perth. She was buried at Rideau Ferry on April 10, 1922.

    Died:
    Richard married Frances Plews 27 Jan 1806 and they had three children - Eleanor, Jane and Anne. After Frances died he married Ann Milner 12 Dec 1814. They had six children - Mary, William, Eliza Jane, Emma, Sophia and Peter. Richard immigrated to Canada with his second wife and all his children about 1816. No information on the death dates for Richard and Anne have been found. They were on the 1861 census but not on the 1871 census. Most of the family is buried in Elmwood Cemtery, Perth which was established in 1872. It is possible that they were burried in the Pioneer Cemetery that opened in 1817 were most of the stones can no longer be seen or read. They could also have been buried on the farm as was the custom when there was no graveyard.
