"Mr. Foster was born Aug 20, 1853 at Perth, Ontario, Canada. One of a family of 6 boys and 5 girls with whom the parents Henry and Margaret Foster were blessed. As Archie he was more commonly known to his family and friends spent his boyhood with his family at Perth and later Marksdale, Ontario. And the year of 1873 he came to the state of Michigan plying his trade in the lumber woods. And as time went on entered into all phase of lumber industry and finally ran his own camps. In the year of 1882 he met and wed Sarah Richardson, the couple making their home in Rolland township, clearing the land and enduring all the privations and hardships mixed with the joys which confronted pioneer families. 13 children were born to Archie and Sarah, seven boys and six girls, all of whom survive, except Charles who passed away in the year of 1931, although the children grew up and scattered to make their own homes. Archie and Sarah have always resided in this locality with the exception of a few years spent in the state of Oregon. On April 10, 1933 Mother Foster passed away a loss to which Archie could never become accustomed. Although he was in ill health during his declining years he refused to leave, except for a short period, the home which contained so many memories of a long life well spent."

Archibald married Sarah Jane Richardson on 16 May 1882 in Montcalm County, Michigan, United States. Sarah (daughter of Silas Barnard Richardson and Catherine Lillian Hess) was born on 10 Nov 1865 in Wood County, Ohio, United States; died on 14 Apr 1933 in Isabella County, Michigan, United States; was buried in Union Cemetery, Blanchard, Isabella County, Michigan, United States. Mrs. Archibald Foster
Sarah Jane Richardson was born in Wood County, Ohio on November 10, 1865 and passed away April 10, 1933.

When three years of age, with her parents, Mr and Mrs Silas B. Richardson, she moved to Michigan, making thier home on a farm in Isabella County. May 16, 1882, she was united in marriage to Archibald Foster. To this union was born six girls, Maggie, Catherine, Clara, Lulu, Viola and Fannie and seven boys, Arthur, Frank, Harry, Bernard, Angus, Henry and Charles.

Mrs. Foster has been in failing health for quite some time and recently her physicians considered an operation imperative. She was unable to survive this ordeal and passed away on the morning of April 10.

She leaves to mourn their losssd her husband, a sister, Mrs Charles Demlow, three brothers, John Richardson of Edmore, Gilbert Richardson of Alma, Henry Richardson of Rudolph, Ohio, and all of the children mentioned before with the exception of Charles, who passed away January 21, 1932 and many friends.
