    Notes:

    Ed MacPherson settled in Calgary and his obituary in the Calgary Albertan of 23 Jun 1937 states "In the fall of 1883 Ed McPherson, then a lad of 17, along with his half-brother (Harry Mather) and two other young men, went west and contracted the building of the CPR roadbed." According to the Albertan, the grade they built is now the present site of Calgary.

    Died:
    The death of Mrs. Ed. McPherson occurred in Provost Hospital, Metiskow, Alberta, on March 17, 1950, at the age of 86 years, 4 mos.
    Robina Lunam Mather was born at Middleville in 1865. She was married to Edward d. McPherson in 1883 and they resided in this village for some time, then at Bancroft, Hastings Co., until 1910, when they went West, farming in the Dolcy district till 1922, when they moved to Metiskow.
    She was predeceased by a little daughter, Eva, in 1894, a son Wilt in 1946, and her husband in 1948. She leaves to mourn her loss, 3 sons, Mont of Regina, Ray and Dave of Metiskow; a sister, Mrs. Janet Lumb of Bowmanville; a forster sister, Mrs. Norman Belton of Edmonton; a brother, Jock Mather of Edmonton; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
    Funeral was held from the community hall in Metiskow on March 21 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gulbronson of Hughenden officiating. During the service two favourite songs of the deceased were rendered. A solo "The Stranger of Galilee", by Mrs. C. Peterson and a duet - "The Haven of Rests", bu Mr. and Mrs. Gulbronson.
    Pallbearers were Arthur Nelson, Emil Nelson, Fred West, Rovert Johnson, Victor Israelson and Gus Nelson. Interment took place in Metiskow Cemetery.
