    Died:
    July 28, 1899 - Among the visitors to Perth at the 12th July demonstration was Mrs. James
    Warrington, 11th Line Bathurst. When standing in front of Barrie's Hotel looking at the
    procession, a bug alighted on her cheek and bit it. She brushed it off and thought nothing of it
    at the time, but it was not long before the spot began to itch then to pain and swell. Doctors
    were called in but the check swelled all the more with blood poisoning until the whole side of the
    face and neck was swollen in a terrible manner. The doctors could not do anything and on
    Wednesday the unfortunate woman died. Whether the venomous bug was the creature that is
    called the "kissing bug" is not known but it looks like something is new in the pest line in the
    county

    The late John Warrington, whose death in Bathurst on the 28th ult., was chronicled last week, wa born in Cavan, Ireland, in 1825, and came to Canada with his parents when 12 years of age. The settled on a farm at Portland. When a young man, Mr. Warrington came to Fallbrook where he met and married Sarah Erwin. Eight children blessed the union - James and William, Fallbrook; Robert, Copper Cliff; Mrs. William Watt, Fallbrook; Mrs. Miller Robinson, St. Thomas, ND. John was killed Wilber mine, a year ago. Alice and Annie, died in infancy.

    D In Bathurst, Friday, Oct. 31", Sara Erwin, wife of Mr. John Warrington, aged 75 years. Born in Bathurst of Irish parentage, she leaves a family of six; John & James, in Bathurst; William, at Blainnore, Alta.; Mrs. Wm. Watt, Bathurst; and Mrs. Miller Robinson, in Dakota. Burial in P1ayfair cemetery.

    Mrs. John Warrington

    Mrs John Warrington, a well known lady of Bathurst, aged 75 years, died at the home of her son Robert, 11th line Bathurst, last Friday. she had been ailing for three months back , cancer of the stonach the trouble. As the disease progresssed the old woman became more feeble, and as there was no possibility of recovery death came as a relief to her suffering. Mrs Warrington was of Irish extraction, her parents having come over from the Old Land in thee pioneer days. She was born in Bathurst and always lived there. Her maiden name was Sarah Irwin. In the heyday of her youth she met and married Mr. Warrington and to the unipn came a family of six children. John and James live on farms adjoining the homestead, where mother passed away and now occupied by Robert; William is at Blairmore, Alta; Mrs. Wm. Watt, in Bathurst; and Mrs Miller Robinson, in Dakota. Mr. Warrington, husband of deceased, survives his wife.

    Funerall took place on Sunday to Playfair Cemetery and the ceremony was conducted by Rev. C.A. Heaven, M.A.
