"Prominent North County Pioneer Passes Away"
The Stephen papers last week contained appreciative obituary notices of James D. Sinclair, the well known sturdy pioneer of the town of Wanger, who died Dec. 7. Deceased was born at Perth, Ontario, Jan. 7, 1829, where he grew to manhood. In 1852, he removed to Bruce County, Canada. In 1862, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret McCurran, Six children blessing their happy union. In 1880, Mr. Sinclair, with his family moved to Minnesota, settling in town of Wanger, Marshall County, where he resided until his death. He was a good, honorable and upright man who faithfully discharged all duties of life and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need of assistance. After a life well spent he laid down its burden to enter the heavenly rest.
The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church in Stephen, December 13, and was conducted by Rev. A. Noyes. A large number of old settlers and friends honored his memory by attending.
Besides his beloved wife, he leaves to mourn his loss his sons, John Sinclair of Argyle, James J. Sinclair of Stephen, and Archie Sinclair of Moose Jaw, Canada and a daughter, Mrs. A. L. Nutting of Radisson, Can. to whom the deepest sympathy of all goes out in their hour of sorrow.
