    Sacred to the memory of John Gemmill of New Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland, who settled in this township in the year 1821 and died October 16, 1847, aged 73 years.

    Also of Ann Weir, his wife, who died Mar 16, 1848, aged 66 years.

    This stone is erected by their sons John and David as a token of respect to the memory of their revered parents.
