Robert was born in Perth, Ontario in 1836. He was married to Mary McConachie in 1859. They had six children; Alexander, Catherine, Hugh, Margaret, Robert and George. Robert's obituary only lists 5 children, Catherine was excluded. Robert died at Elphin, North Sherbrooke Township, Lanark County, on Oct.11,1899 at the age of 64.

Obituary - The Lanark Era - Oct.18,1899 -
In North Sherbrooke, Robert Burns Wilson, died Oct. 11th, aged 64 years. He was born in Perth, Ont., in 1836. At the age of 14, he moved to Humboldt, Wis., where he stayed for four or five years before returning to North Sherbrooke, where he married in 1859 to Miss Mary McConachie, also of North Sherbrooke. They had a family of five, all but one of whom are living; Hugh, on the homestead; Robert, at Rat Portage; George, at Plevna; and Mrs. James McKinnon, also at home. Burial on Friday last at Crawford's cemetery.

Robert married Mary McConachie about 1859. Mary (daughter of Hugh McConachie and Catherine Ferguson) was born on 4 Feb 1836; died on 2 Jun 1921; was buried in Crawford Cemetery, Elphin, Dalhousie Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mary was born Feb.4,1836 in North Sherbrooke Township, Lanark County, Ontario, the daughter of Hugh McConachie and Katherine Ferguson. She was married to Robert Burns Wilson in 1859. They had six children; Alexander, Catherine, Hugh, Margaret, Robert and George. Mary was living at Lot 12, Con 2, of North Sherbrooke, when she died on June 2,1921.

North Sherbrooke Twp., Thurs. June 2,1921, Mary McConnochie, in her 85th year. relict of the late Robert Wilson, who died 22 years ago. They had six children; Alexander, Catherine, Hugh, Margaret, Robert and George, all dead except Robert, now in Seattle and George at Calgary. Mrs. Thomas Mitchell of Mitchell, ON, is her only surviving sister. Burial on Sat. June 4th in Crawford's cemetery.
