    BERGSTROM '96 The funeral services for the late Ida May Bergstrom, aged 58 years, will be held from the chapel of the St. Johns Undertaking Co. Friday, Jan. 18, at 2 P.M. Mrs. Bergstrom is survived by her widower, Fred Bergstrom ; one daughter, Mrs. Maude Barber, Ontario, Cal.; one sister, Mrs. Nellie McKinley; one niece, Mrs. Hazel Thompson and two uncles, John and James Miller of Portland. Interment Riverview cemetery.

    Died:
    Verlin Ennis was born in Indiana, November 15, 1839, and died January 9, 1921, leaving his widow, Bertha Ennis and two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. Mary Bergstrum and Mrs. Nellie Powell. Mr. Ennis crossed the plains in 1851 and with his parents and settled at Oregon City, later moving to Washington county where he lived for several years. Later he located below Linnton at the head of the island where he passed most of his life. He will be remembered by the old settlers and many friends as the ferryman of Sauvies island before the time of the steamboats.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday at the chapel of Dunning & McEntee. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.
