    Dunlop? Died, at the village of Hawley, Wayne Co., Pennsylvania, on the 27th July, James Dunlop, aged 81 years. He was the eldest son of Mr. John Dunlop who came to Dalhousie Twp., Lanark County, Ontario with the first settlers in 1821 and brother to Thomas Dunlop of McDonald's Corners. The deceased remained in Dalhousie for over thirty years and then went to the States where he has resided ever since. He leaves two daughters to mourn their loss.
    Many of his siblings are buried in Crawfords Cemetery, Dalhousie Twp., Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.

    JOHN DUNLOP was born in 1783 in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He died on 26 Jan 1840 in Dalhousie, Lanark, Ontario, Canada. He married AGNES CRAIL (1782-1853) on 05 Sep 1801 in Avondale, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

    JOHN was a tailor in Scotland and a farmer in Canada. He and his family (wife and 7 children) departed from Greenock, Scotland on 02 May 1821 aboard the Earl of Buckinghamshire. They arrived in Quebec City, Canada on 13 Jun 1821. The family then made their way to Dalhousie, Lanark, Ontario. Here John was assigned land on East Lot 11, concession 8 in Dalhousie Township, overlooking Dalhousie Lake.
    John and Agnes are reported to be buried in Crawford's Cemetery, but no grave has been found.

    John married Agnes Crail on 5 Sep 1801 in Avondale, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Agnes was born about 1782 in Scotland; died on 5 Dec 1853 in McDonald Corners, Dalhousie Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Crawford Cemetery, Elphin, Dalhousie Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
