    Land & Property:
for his home lot on the eastern slopes of the hill"George hill", bounded north by the trucking house lot which John Prescott bought of John Cowdall in 1647. Adams soon got into serious trouble by illicit trade with the Indians, . . . and his unimproved home lot was reconveyed by the proprietors to Jonas Fairbank. In 1670, however, Adams laid claim to the land and the town appeased him by a grant of sixty acres near 'Washacome'. There he built and lived, apparently a genial neighbor to the Indians.

    Court:
'George Addams, for selling two guns & strong water to the Indians, & haueing nothinge to satisfy the law, is ordred to be whipt & discharged out of prison ?i?(Records of the Governor and Company of hte Massachusetts Bay in New England 3:308)
?/i?In ansr to the petion of George Addams, the Courte, finding that he was found guilty of selling two gunnes and strong wateres, having nothing to sattisfy the lawe, determined that he shall be severely whipt the next lecture day at Boston, and then discharged of the prison?i? (ibid. 4:pt. 1:133).?/i?

    Court:
    (ibid 1:71)

    Land & Property:
George Adams petitioned the General Court for confirmation of his claim to the two hundred acres of land in Lancaster which he had acquired from the Sachem Shoniow some years earlier (Mass. Archives, Boston, 45:165).

    Land & Property:
The town of Lancaster conceded he did have a right to the lot, granted him sixty acres of upland. He had to meet certain conditions, the chief one being that he and his son John "for the selues their heires and asignes (were) neuer (again) to disurbe or trouble the towne or any man in the towne about any former Rights (or) titles". Both George and John signed this document by mark.

    Land & Property:
"In ansr to the petition of George & Frances Addams, humbly desiring the favour of this Court to confirme vnto them a certeline parcell of vpland & meadow seuerall yeares since given to them by Shoniow, sachem of Nashaway, deceased, called by the name of Washaame Hill, being about the quantity of two hundred acres," granted ?i?(Records of the Governor and Company of the Massachusetts Bay in New England 5:39)
?/i?On 24 May 1715, George Adams of Lexington and Mary Adams of the same place, spinster. "the Son and Daughter of George Adams formerly of Lancaster glover deced" sold their rights in this tract to "our elder Brother John Adams of Colchester in ...Connecticut; and on the same day John Adams of Colchester, "Son of George Adams formerly of Lancaster Glover decd," deeded three fifths of this tract to Francis Fullam, "Gentleman", of Weston, Massachuscetts.
On 7 November 1723, Samuel Aadams of Windsor, Connecticut, Son to George Adams formerly of Lancastar deced," and Joseph Adams of Simsbury Connecticut, "in Right of his father Daniel Adams also Son to the aforesd. George Adams of sd. Lancastar or Nashaway" and for the children & heirs of his father Daniel Adams aforesd deced," deeded the remaining two fifths to Mr. Fullam. The deed states that Samuel and Joseph were "Invested with two fifths of the whole of a Certain Tract of Land formerly granted or given by Shoinow Sachem of Nashaway unto the sd George Adams and Frances his Wife which was confirmed by the Genl. Court held at Boston May 12th 1675 containing Two Hundred Acres at Washcomhill.

    Land & Property:
In late summer 1675 and in kFebruary 1676 during King Philip's War, Lancaster was ravaged by Indian attacks; and after the second assult the town was abandoned. The Adamses undoubtedly took refuge in Watertown or Cambridge Farms and probably did not return to Lanacaster, for on 28 May 1684, the name of George Adams appeared on a list of lancaster property owners who lived out of town.

    Residence:
George spent his last years at Cambridge Farms, now Lexington, where he and his son George were taxed for the support of the ministry from 1 May 1692 to 1 May 1693

    Died:
George Adams was "killed at Wat(ertown) 10 Oct 1696 by the fall of a rock, according to the verdict of Coroner's Jury, preserved in the Suffolk Court files".
Frances Adams, 'Relict widow of George Adams late of Cambridge Husbandman Deced' was appointed administor of his estate on 28 Oct 1696. The inventory of the estate of George Adams Senr late of Cambridge who deced ye 10th of Octobr, 1696 was taken 19 Oct 1696, and amounted to ?61 13 s. 8d. In this inventory appears an entry for "two hundred and sixty acres of Land at Lancaster" valued at ?50.

    Married:
George Adams, the oldest of the four sons of William Adams and his wife, the former Miss Borington, married Miss Streetholt who is the daughter of Conrad Streetholt, a merchant London.

George Adams is the father of George Adams of Waterton. George was a Lieutenant in the service of Charles I, the English King who was later beheaded (1600-1649).

George died in Barbados in 1647. Perhaps he did not dare to return to England with public opinion running so strongly against King Charles.

George's brother Ambrose lived and died in Barbados. In 1680 he was living in St. Michaelas near the present city of Bridgeton.
