    Death of F. W. A. Blackmon.
    Frederick W. A. Blackmon died at his residence near this village on Thursday morning, May 10th, aged 70 years. Mr. Blackmon was born in Hammond and was a son of the late Dr. Blackmon, one of the first physicians of the town.

    Mr. Blackmon spent his entire lifetime in Hammond and was a well-known and highly respected citizen. He was a man of pronounced temperance views and for many years was no license commissioner of the town. He was a member of the Universalist church.

    A Wife, two sons (G. A. Blackmon of Lowville, and George Blackmon, of Theresa,) and two daughters, Mrs. D.D. Moyer, of Hammond, and Mrs. W. C. Selleck, of Denver, Col, mourn his death.

    The funeral service was held on Monday last and was: conducted by Rev. D. L. B. Libby and Rev. Mrs. Libby, of Watertown. Rev. Mr. Ferguson, of the Presbyterian church, was also present and took part in the services. Interment in the Hammond cemetery.

    Mr. Blackmon was in failing health for the past two years. He leaves a large circle of relatives, friends and neighbors, who held him in high esteem.

    Mr. John Lambie died at the house of his son-in-law, Otis Gardiner, Sunday evening, Feb. 3rd, aged eighty five years. Mr. Lambie came into town fifty years ago, and settled on the farm now occupied by his brother James Lambie. A few years ago he sold his farm and has been living with his children. His wife survives him.

    John married Ellen Morris.
