    Charles H. Rintoul
As a surprise came the news of the death last evening, about 5.30 o'clock, of Mrs Charles H. Rintoul of Ramsay. Mr Rintoul has been troubled with his heart for some time, and had not done any work since New Year's, but no such sudden break-up was anticipated, and his demise came as a shock. The deceased was born in Darling township 57 years ago, being a son of the late John Rintoul, one of the pioneer Scotch settlers. Twenty-two years ago, April 29th, he was married to Jessie Taylor, and died upon his wedding day. Mrs Rintoul with one daughter and four sons, survive. Five years ago the family removed from Darling to Ramsay, Mr Rintoul purchasing the Hilliard farm, adjoining Mr Alex McLean. In politics Mr Rintoul was a Liberal, in religion a Presbyterian. He was a quiet, unassuming man, industrious and enterprising, and much esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon to the 8th line cemetery. The bereaved wife and children have the sympathy of many friends in their trouble.

    Mrs. J. T. Somerville
On Saturday evening the last call to pass on to the home beyond, came to one of our older and well respected citizens of our community in the person of Mrs. John T. Somerville, who for some time had been in falling health. Elizabeth Ann Rodger was the fourth child of Wm. Rodger and Jane Stewart and was born Nov. 1858, on the farm at Arklan where her brother D. S. Rodger now lives. On October 8th, 1890, she was united in marriage to John T. Somerville and they made their home in this community. To them were granted a family of six children, Jennie, Mrs. David McFarlane; Arthur, William, Rodger of Perth; Eric, Lanark; Ida C. of Lyons; Helen, Mrs. Alva Rintoul of Ramsay. Mrs. Somerville, while one of the busy home-loving kind, was a faithful, loving wife and mother, yet she always found time to attend those, causes which stand for the highest and best in community life, as long as her health permitted. She was a member for a number of years in the W.M.S., a member of the Ladies' Aid and for many years an active member of the W. I. We extend our sympathy to all those bereaved, the husband and the family, also her sisters, Isabella, Mrs. Wm. J. Affleck of Toronto; Mary, Mrs. Geo, Stead of Hopetown; Maud and a adopted sister, Mrs. M. Darling of New York, and one brother, David S. on the homestead. The funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. J. C. Lowrie. Many floral tributes were in evidence from W.M.S., Hunters' Club, W. I. and friends and relatives.
